I don't buy much Burgundy anymore, because the prices are insane for the good stuff. And I don't drink much village level wine, because they can be kinda simple. In fact, a village-level Santaney like this would normally be very acidic and bright, on the lean side, with significant tannin. Even after a couple of years in the bottle, I would expect it to be pretty but fairly lightweight. NOT this one! This is ripe, fleshy, and dense, with a purple/blue color that shows the extraction. It's quite dense, really packed with fruit, and even quite drinkable with a bit of decanting. It's only going to get better for years, and will outperform many Premier Cru wines, guaranteed. I had two bottles with consistent results. If you've been lamenting the lack of really good Burg at a really good price, this is your wine. Alas, there's only about a dozen bottles available. Made from 50 year old vines.
